At 10:08 PM on Sunday, Oct. 1, 64-year-old Stephan Paddock opened fire upon the Route 91 concert crowd of roughly 22,000 people.

The concert was in the middle of a song when the first gunshots went off. At first mistaken for fireworks, it was clear the crowd was under attack when the second round of shots went off. The firing continued for another 10-15 minutes. Authorities were quickly upon the scene of the attack, where they found Paddock dead with a self-inflicted wound.

Upwards of 50 deaths and 500 injured have been recorded thus far. Authorities are still on the hunt for more info related to the shooting. Paddock stashed 13 weapons on the 32nd floor of his Mandalay Bay room where he checked in on Sept. 28. He had a bird’s eye view of the concert from above.

Paddock, a resident of Mesquite, NV, is recorded as having no criminal background. His wife is currently in Japan and will be immediately questioned by authorities upon her arrival. Paddock’s motives are still unknown.

Crowds of people have lined up and are waiting up to eight hours to donate blood and supplies.

The citizens of Las Vegas have taken the attack remarkably well and cities and countries all across the US and the world have sent their deepest condolences.
