On Thursday, Aug. 23rd, students gathered around the cafeteria after school to meet and discuss with this year’s new Key Club family.

Key Club has become Palo’s most notable club to join, being that last year’s member count was at an impressive 40. This club’s sole purpose is to provide service, build character, and develop leadership skills. Heabin Pyo, this year’s president, is determined to make this year the most smooth, organized year yet.

Panther Print asked this year’s leaders to talk about how they felt running this international, highly notable club. These were their responses:

Haebin Pyo, President:

“I’m so happy that so many members are here, and I hope that throughout the year all of the members stay. Another goal of mine is for all of our staff to be organized.”

Belen Gutierrez, Vice President:

“I’m hoping for Key Club to have a lot of new members that will inspire a lot of service projects.”

Luchen Zheng, Treasurer:

“I’m the Key Club Treasurer this year and I hope we can have more members than last year. I also hope that everyone can accomplish the 50 community service hours. Lastly, I hope I can improve on my leadership skills.”

Esther Hong, Secretary:

“I’m so excited to make new friends here and have fun experiences with everyone throughout this year.”

Edward Liang, Secretary at Arms/SAA:

“I’m so excited to make new friends here and have fun experiences with everyone throughout this year.”

Odalys Farias, Tech Editor:

“My hopes for this year is to get everyone attached to community service. Also, I want people to just have fun this year. I want members of this club to meet new people and build relationships.”
