Backpack Checks?

Starting sometime in the winter, CCSD will begin checking ALL of the book bags of students in the Clark County area. This is starting because of the recent weapon issues that have been happening since the beginning of the school year.

It’s been said that since August there have already been 11 weapons confiscated from students who had them in their backpacks.

“I feel like it’s an invasion of privacy,” a student from Clark County School District states.

“I feel like it’s a good way to make sure nothing comes into the school, it’s better than having metal detectors up at every door. It’s random too, so no one really knows when it’s gonna happen,” Mr. Lewis, Palo’s French teacher, comments.

Students need to make sure that before they walk into school, their backpacks are filled with necessities; things they will need during the normal school day. Remember, this only ensures that students of Nevada are able to be safe daily when they are at school.
