Happy Thanksgiving, y’all! Turkey day is here and as we get ready to eat some good food, I asked some of the staff to share what they were thankful for this year.

Gabriel Gonzalez (Editor-In-Chief):

I am very thankful for my family and friends. Without them, I would not be the person I am today, and I will always be grateful for that. It’s always good to have people who would be there to support you, and I have been lucky to have those people around me. I am also thankful for the teachers I have, and I’ve had in my life. Without their support, I would not have the academic success I’ve been so lucky to have. Lastly, I’m thankful for being somewhat funny. It’s always great and worth it to make people smile with my half-assed jokes.

Kyla Gabriel (Managing Editor):

Some things I am thankful for are my friends, my dad and my dog. I am so thankful to be able to have the privilege of waking up every morning next to my dog and going to bed every night next to my dog. She has truly changed my life for the better. I am also thankful for my sweet friends and my dad. They are there for me constantly and make me laugh and smile. Those are some things I’m thankful for!

Matthew Joung (Reporter):

I am thankful for my friends and my family because they help me get through the day. Without them, I would not be able to function as a human being and my mental health would fall apart more than it already has. I am also thankful for my ability to play the guitar and my ability to draw as they shape my character and give me something to do when I am bored.

Benjamin Alfaro (Reporter):

Thanksgiving is here again, and I sit and wonder what I am grateful for this year. I have come to realize that It’s not just one day a year when we should be thankful for everything in our lives; we should be thankful every day that God has given us another day to live and to have our family. To be grateful for having food on the table and a roof over our heads. Sometimes we may take these things for granted, but we should always thank God for everything he has blessed us with.
